Most people fail because they join a program and do nothing! Nothing happens without advertising! Fortunately, on the internet, you can advertise inexpensively (even for free). If you join a program, and you consistently promote you will substantially increase your odds of success! If you don't know how to promote, don't think you can't learn quickly (it's not difficult).

Most people who fail, place advertising without building their own mailing list. Typically they get an affiliate website from the program they're promoting - and they put that affiliate website URL in their ads.

That's a huge mistake! Promote the benefits of being on your list FIRST - then promote your opportunity to your list (repeatedly!). If you build a list first, you can promote your program to your prospects multiple times. This can double, or triple your response rate!

The program you're promoting won't tell you this - because they want you to build THEIR LIST! They like that! They know that long term success is "in the list."

When you first build your own list, you can also promote multiple (complementing) products and services. This too can double or triple your response rate!

For example, if you're promoting an MLM program, you could also promote affiliate programs for information, autoresponder services, webmasters, etc. Some prospects won't join your opportunity, but they will buy other things. Generate multiple streams of income using your own list.

The free method for building a list is with a free autoresponder. However, a third-party ad will appear in your email messages if you use a free autoresponder. If you find a free autoresponder service that won't put ads in your email messages, they will want a banner ad on your website, or they will not allow you to broadcast unscheduled messages to your list,.. or they will give poor response time.

You will more than double your advertising response by asking for the order multiple times. Do that with an autoresponder. It's a good idea to include your phone number if your program is expensive. Many people will buy / join if they can talk to you first (and they like you).

Many people who promote an "opportunity" promote more than one! They promote too many. You will see these "opportunity junkies" all over the Internet! They tend to jump from program to program. Every season there's a new "hot opportunity."

Please don't become one of these people - they're not making much money (if any). Have one primary program, and a few supporting programs. In fact, not having a few supporting programs could cost you money.

For example, every person who joins your program will need an autoresponder service. Autoresponder services will pay you for referrals. So join an autoresponder affiliate program. There's a second income stream.

Some of the people who join your primary program may want a custom website created for them. Find a webmaster who will pay you for referrals. Or join an affiliate program for website hosting.

Some of the people who join your primary program may want to call prospects on the phone. Join a long distance program that rewards you for referrals. You could earn enough to offset your long distance bill (or even earn a net profit).

Join programs that will compliment your primary program. You may need to build an organization of 200 people to quit your job (without complimenting programs). But with multiple, complimenting programs you may only need 100 in your organization.

Most of the sources of advertising on the Internet are a complete waste of time. If you read their websites, they will sound super effective,.. but they're not.

There's no way to guarantee you won't buy advertising that will fail, but you can increase your odds of buying the best advertising. Ask others what sources of advertising work for them. Some people will keep their sources secret. Others will share their successful sources of advertising.
